Welcome to Whitmore Village Hall. Since its opening in 1959 it has been at the heart and centre of the community. The Committee's aim is always to provide first class facilities and we are delighted at the warm response we have received to the extension to the building in 2013. On the car park end we now have a new main entrance, with large foyer, a new meeting room and a toilet for the disabled.
With the additional meeting room and the greater flexibility available to hirers we are able to encourage new users. We would particularly like to offer activities for young people but also to introduce local people to existing regular groups. In addition the Hall is available for occasional events such as wedding receptions, wedding anniversaries, birthdays, charity fund raising, drama, musical evenings, resident groups and public meetings.
There are always Committee members happy to meet potential hirers, to show them the premises and to discuss bookings.
We are committed to managing the hall as efficiently as possible. Over the last few years we have taken part in Hallmark, a three part national quality standards scheme for village halls and community centres. Now we are pleased to report that in 2014, along with one other hall, we are the first in Staffordshire, to be awarded the final part, Hallmark 3.
We want everyone to feel that the Hall really belongs to them. There is always room for anyone to involve himself or herself in what is going on. The Trustees and Committee members would be delighted to discuss the roles that people could take on and what commitment is required.
With the community behind us we can look forward to a new, exciting era for the Hall.
